No one truly knows what the other side is like. Right now you still have the opportunity to make amends, find out what is causing suicidal thoughts, love others, experience joy, and experience success at overcoming your challenges. Then, you will have a chance to help and encourage others.
Now, if you ever listen to anyone--hear me now. Suicidal thoughts or plans are symptoms of an illness. The term illness is used because so often suicidal symptoms may caused by something as simple as a hormone, sugar or other body chemistry imbalance. There may be cureable, physical reasons for your current symptom. Please give yourself time to find the right answers.
Nothing will be accomplished by giving in to this symptom. You can become the victor, the champion by fighting for your life. Do something now to distract yourself from these lying symptoms.
Many people have been in your condition. Many people get help, survive and thrive. Most issues will change over time if given a chance and dealt with. There will be a day when you will be happy that you did not hasten your own death.
Here are a few self help principles I learned along the way:
- You can make it past divorce.
- You can make it past bankruptcy.
- You can make it past foreclosure.
- You can make it past a loved one's suicide.
- You can defeat alcoholism, drug addiction, gambling addiction...
- You can improve your credit rating with hard work and time.
- You can ditch a bad work situation.
- You can start over multiple times.
- If you are in an abusive situation; call 911 or click on one of the links at this site.
- If you have done something you are ashamed of; give yourself time to make amends, forgive yourself, and don't do it again.
- Choose to help someone else. (If you can't think of anyone; I will guarantee there is an elder who needs assistance near you. Open your eyes and look around your neighborhood.)
- Champion a cause.
- Correct media misinformation.
- When you make it past the emergency phase, work on developing a custom life saving plan for when and if this stage recurs.
- Again, care about someone else, or something else.
- Keep a journal.
- Visit sites for mental health and use some of the coping methods.
- A good place to start is by clicking on the logos provided.
- Talk to someone. Talk to someone. Talk to someone.
- Make stepping stone goals.
- Make flexible plans.

If it helps, think of the suicidal thoughts as an addiction or some other challenge you have overcome. Set yourself up for successfully defeating that last impulse. If you are trying to quit drinking alcohol, you don't keep alcohol in the cabinets or frig, you rid yourself of temptation. Rid your space of anything that could be used to end your life with. Some day you will experience such joy while living here on earth, --that you will be grateful beyond measure that you waited.
